Weekend and stuff

I've been meaning to make a post since this weekend. Things have just been a little busy.

First things first, MSDGC was a good time. I can't say "great" or "fantastic" for two reasons: one, I played like ass warmed over twice. I don't think I have EVER four-putted from 30 feet, but I did this weekend. Turned a nice 3 opportunity into a 6. Sigh. Second, the festivities just weren't really calling me this year. Last year it was all "new", this year... maybe I'm just jaded, I don't know. But it was still, all in all, good stuff. Not to mention I won a basket! Put $6 in for two tries, and came away with 38 points, 3 higher than the 2 people who tied behind me, which meant I came home with a ~$400 basket. Plus I'm the first person, period, to own one of these baskets. Kinda cool.

The code also got finished just in time for the live scoring, and everyone loved it. Good stuff. Our one SNAFU was that the laptop my buddy was using at Tournament Central to input the scores belonged to the TD's sister, and she ganked it from us before the final round was done cuz she had to leave and catch her plane. Whaaaaaa?!?? Oh well, maybe next year they can find a better machine to use, hehe.

In other news, this article pisses me off. I wasn't likely going to be buying a PS3 anyway, but $70 - $80 per game?!!!! Re-frikking-diculous. I hope the Revolution's games are at the more reasonable $40 - $50 range that today's games are at. That's the console I will definitely be purchasing, and I can't wait to get my Zelda and Metroid on.

Speaking of which, I was reading through a baby book recently looking for ideas on my future daughter's name, and I came across the entry for Zelda. Which, according to the book, I'll paraphrase: "The name Zelda is very commonly known as the redheaded, elfish main character from the 'Legend of Zelda' video game series". Commonly known facts, huh? Barring the fact Zelda is NOT a redhead, nor the main character; Link is male, and is a blonde just like Princess Zelda is. Damn people not doing their research.

Not that I'd name my daughter Zelda anyway. Honestly I dont think it's a bad name at all; I just know too many people who play games and wouldnt want her growing up constantly hearing about the damn game. She's already going to get all the same "McHale's Navy", "Kevin McHale", etc crap from her last name that I got growing up, and still get every once in a while.
