Damn I'm Tired

This weekend wore me out. After sleeping 4 hours on Thurday night, I was pretty wrecked for work that day. After suffering through work, I then had to pick my buddy up in Manchester and drive to Maine for a disc golf tournament. That drive kicked my ass. We got in late, got to bed later, and I got maybe 5 hours of sleep before needed to wake up and head to the course to play.

That went well for me since I won my only match of the day, but my buddy lost his and we found ourselves with a free afternoon. Rather than stick around in the freezing cold rain to play any more, we opted to head back to the house we were staying at (his future mother-in-law Jane's house) and grab some hot showers and relax. We decided to hit a movie, where we saw Serenity. I've only seen the first episode of Firefly, the TV show the film is based off of, and my buddy had never seen any of the show, but we both enjoyed it immensely. Not only was the movie good, but the theater we saw the show at kicked ass. The seats were leather reclining desk chairs, nice and cushy, and tables were everywhere in the theater. Which was clutch because the theater has a full menu you can order food off of. Appetizers, burgers, more "dinner"-style grub, desserts, it was all there. And beer. We got a large appetizer combo to split and also a "Bucket of Beer", 5 bottles of Sam Adams in a metal bucket filled with ice, brought right to you. The whole movie experience definitely made the weekend.

The movie ended sometime in the 9's, so we went back to the house to watch some more Flying Circus on BBC America and then go to bed early, both of us looking forward to a full night's sleep. That was when, at 11pm as Mike went to the basement where he was sleeping, he discovered 2 inches of standing water down there. We never did find the source of the problem, but after a 911 call, a lot of hauling boxes and other items up from the basement, a Fire Department visit, some pumping and a kind neighbor bringing over a water pump from his garden's waterfall to hose out the water overnight until Jane could get a sump pump installed the next day - It was suddenly 2:30am and we hadn't gotten to bed yet. Fuck.

So, Sunday we played our second round of golf. I played ok but probably could have done better with more sleep in me. Then when all was said and done we finally got back on the road to CT and I rolled into my parking space at the condo around 8:30pm. Was asleep by 9:30, but still feel like crap today after waking up at 7am. I have a lot of catching up on sleep to do, which may take a few days.

A few quick links on the Nintendo front before I close this... first, there's a rumor going around that the Revolution may hit shelves at $99. Whaaaa?!?? This would kick so much ass I can't even begin to talk about it.

Second, it's been discovered you can play "demos" of DS games on your Nintendo DS system. For those that are interested check out these two links for some demo files and to find out how it works. I definitely want to give this a look since, if it all works how I think it might, this could be exactly what I've been hoping for on the DS system. I admittedly haven't gone into all the details myself but I thought I'd share for those interested in the read.
